⚠️ Critical: You MUST flash Bruce v1.14 or later before attaching the RF board. Bruce v1.12 and v1.13 are missing the required SPI and power patches — they will produce aCC1101 NOT FOUNDerror.
- Open bruce.computer/flasher in Google Chrome or Microsoft Edge (Web Serial API required).
- Connect your M5Stack StickS3 via USB-C.
- Select the latest stable release (v1.14 or newer).
- Click Flash and follow the on-screen instructions.
- Wait for the flash to complete, then reboot the device.

- Power off your M5Stack StickS3.
- Align the RF PACK S3 with the expansion header connector on the bottom of the StickS3.
- Press firmly until fully seated — no soldering required.
- Power on the device.
Once Bruce firmware is running with the RF board attached:
Menu → RF → CONFIG → RF MODULE → CC1101 (legacy)
After selecting CC1101, the module will be recognized and ready for use in the RF menu.
No configuration is required for nRF24. Simply:
Activate the nRF24 module from the Bruce menu — it is operational immediately.
After setup, confirm the following:
- Bruce firmware version is v1.14 or later (visible in Settings or boot screen)
- No
CC1101 NOT FOUNDerror on boot - CC1101 appears in Menu → RF
- nRF24 activates without error
