Summary

  • Appends a "Design Philosophy: Favor Emergent Systems Over Bespoke Solutions" section to the existing CLAUDE.md on development.
  • Names the canonical fundamentals — Domain (not "color"), Mass, Cells (not "biomes", with CellType), Elementals (the single buff/debuff system across vessels + environment), Prisms / Prismscapes (trails are the 1D case; higher-dimensional prism constructions planned), Flora & Fauna, and Vessels.
  • Adds a curation process for proposing new fundamentals (name precisely, show reach across ≥3 features, show composition with existing fundamentals, prefer extension, budget the weight) so the set stays minimal-yet-exhaustive.
  • 5-step order of preference: use → tune → extend → propose new fundamental → bespoke last resort.
  • Requires Claude to stop and ask for explicit permission before "cheating" emergence (e.g. using known fauna placement data to short-circuit prism-attraction behavior).

Test plan

  • Confirm the canonical names (Domain, Cells, Elementals, Prismscapes, Flora & Fauna, Vessels, Mass) match the team's terminology.
  • Confirm the curation process (reach / composition / extension / weight) is the right bar for admitting a new fundamental.
  • Confirm the cheat-vs-emergent example reads correctly for future contributors.
  • Confirm this section composes well with the existing guidance above it.

Appends a "Favor Emergent Systems Over Bespoke Solutions" section
describing a 4-step order of preference (use → tune → extend → bespoke)
and requiring explicit prompter permission before "cheating" emergence.
- Correct terminology: domain (not color), cells (not biomes).
- Elevate elementals as the single buff/debuff system across
  vessels and environment.
- Reframe trails as the 1D case of prismscapes to leave room for
  higher-dimensional prism constructions.
- Add a curation process (name precisely, show reach, show
composition, prefer extension, budget the weight) so new
fundamentals are added deliberately, not by accident.
