What is drm-cli

The drm-cli is an open-source, cross-platform Data Release Management (DRM) tool developed by d-band.
It integrates seamlessly with existing version control systems, eliminating the need for additional licenses.
Each version control system typically includes basic tools for specific tasks, such as managing data releases (e.g., schema changes and data updates to your data storage systems).
However, these tools are often limited, offering only fundamental operations like releasing data from a source to a specific target.
drm-cli enhances basic release operations by offering:

  • Release History Tracking: Maintain a comprehensive log of all data releases.
  • Detailed Status Monitoring: Gain insights into each step of the release process.
  • Multi-Solution Releases: Manage multiple solutions under a single release.
  • Automated Exception Handling: Automatically detect and handle exceptions during releases.
  • For a quick start, refer to the README.md

To get full features list, see features list in releases versions.
