This release is targeted at and requires v1.10.0 Build 29+ of PiFire.

  • Entire app has been rewritten in Kotlin and Compose. Due to the major changes I expect there to be bugs after the transition to the newer codebase. Please be patient with the issues and/or bugs
  • Added support for PiFire v1.10.0 Build 29+
  • Added support for multiple smokers or instances of PiFire
  • Added high and low probe notifications
  • Now supports Light and Dark Themes as well as Dynamic Color for Android 12+
  • Now supports Landscape and Portrait layouts on most all screens, the app is still mostly designed around phone sized portrait screens but I wanted to make it a bit more tablet friendly
  • Added ability to show or hide Bottom Bar on home screen
  • Added elapsed time counter
  • Added support for Lid Open detection and option to manually trigger lid open
  • Added startup and shutdown counter/banner
  • Added banners for PiFire errors and Warnings

  • Added recipes support. You can now view, start, share, print and control running recipes with possible editing support later down the road
  • Added App Update checking for Play and Github versions
  • Improved socket connections and connected/disconnected messages
  • Improved longer list views to support expanding or opening a new page
  • Check for network connection before making API Calls and present clearer errors
  • Update setup to check server version via api before attempting to fetch full settings via socket. This will make the errors clearer if the server version is not supported by the app.
