DeCentralize NewHampshire DCNH is a network of independent people, places, and things in the Granite Republic, building a federation of digital communities. Decentralized means there is no central control, and therefore everyone is free to participate, or not, in the greater network.
This is actually how Bitcoin works, with decentralized nodes that anyone can run themselves to support the overall network. Bitcoin can operate well with only 1 node, but each additional node strengthens the network and builds layers of trust.
You can also decentralize in the physical world with things like pop up marketplaces, food trucks, community supported agriculture, radio mesh networks, and community events.
Building your own online television station can be as simple as adding videos to a playlist. Check out DCNHtv on YouTube, and notice the overlap with dcnh.tv.
Imagine your own network where you control the playlists and publish them out to your team, or group, or organization. One single page providing a world of information, custom tailored to each individual.
Simply copy the source code of DCNH tv and modify the playlist ID's. Eventually this could be automated through code to prompt users for their video playlist platform and ID. Contribute code to this project at github.com/wearenh/dcnh.tv
Y u no Host is a simple server platform to host your own web server to run on. Install "My Webapp" to be up and running in minutes with SFTP credentials to manage the file system, and database credentials for your own MySQL server.*
DCNH.tv is meant to inspire others to independently create, although the content provided is some of the best educational and entertainment material around.
Utilizing automation tools available online, we are able to aggregate multiple news sources to post notifications within seconds of new being published.
Our local channel WEARENH aggregates news from around New Hampshire, and relays through Telegramand X
Nextcloud Hub combines key Nextcloud products — Files, Talk, Groupware, Office and Assistant — into a single platform, optimizing the flow of collaboration.
Nextcloud Collectives are how you're reading these words.
Imagine running your own social media server, and allowing only the people you choose to be able to join. Optionally, you could join that server to a greater centralized network of others that are doing the same. This gives you control over who you trust and let in to your server.
- Mastedon is a prime example of this
- Y u no Host is a simple server platform to host your own instance.
The creators of DeSo probably won't like being called DeFi, but I believe DeSo has potential to provide everyone the freedom to immortalize their brand or idea into a blockchain backed up by thousands of users.
Once posted, the "users" can be monetized with Creator Coins, and "posts" can be monetized with NFT tokens. Trading value within the DeSo blockchain offers anyone the ability to buy in to an idea or project, while the creator can transparently utilize that value to support the idea.
DeSo can be easily converted into any other form of currency, to use where DeSo is not accepted. Fundraising for projects is also made possible using decentralized technology and the blockchain network. OpenFund is integrated with the DeSo blockchain to enable projects to raise DeSo through it's decentralized crowd funding platform.
Give Butter, while centralized, allows users to create a P2P fundraising campaign. This grants users the ability to build teams to help promote their product through your fundraiser. givebutter.com/c/dcnh is an example of team fundraising. Teams can help prioritize funds to a specific cause, while the greater organization is responsible for disbursement.
Gold, Silver, and other valuable precious metals make an excellent method of transferring value in the physical world without a central authority assigning it's value. The open and free market determines the conversion price of metals to another store of value.
Political parties are centralized collectives of loosely organized people with some common values. The democratic system permits people to express their desire of which politician is best aligned with their values, and they would be most willing to have represent them. This works best when all of the people being represented share the same values instead of two wolves and a chicken voting on what's for dinner.
There's also an issue where only some of your values are represented by a collective, but you are still only given the opportunity to select representation by the lesser of evils. The republic of confederated states may be the more decentralized method, but still ultimately results in centrally ruling by force over a peaceful minority.
The Free State Project is an attempt at creating the ideal geographic region for neighbors who share values of freedom, liberty, non-aggression, and voluntary interactions. This has resulted in a mass migration to the Granite State, largely due to their Live Free or Die mentality.
One development of this is the NHLA. The NHLA was formed to rank individual political representatives based on how their values align with the values of the people they are representing. This system of ranking and grading representatives against the Gold Standard is published in a report card.
Events The Free State Calendar has something, somewhere, for everyone. Hockey games, hiking, market days, game nights, park days, movie nights, or dinners out. Independent community clubs like The Wearehouse, and The Shell have created welcoming spaces for hosting all types of gatherings.
Now with DCNH.tv, we can unite the digital and physical worlds together with video conferencing from event hosts.
You never need to be alone in New Hampshire, you just need to be nice.
