I build websites, apps, tools, experiments, game projects, and occasionally things that started with
“this should only take 10 minutes” and then became a full project.
I'm Toon van Berkel, a developer who enjoys turning ideas into actual working projects.
My interest in tech started with wanting to play Minecraft with friends, which somehow turned into building my own server, learning how systems work, and slowly falling into the world of coding, websites, tools, games, automation, and creative tech.
Now I work on a mix of:
- Websites and portfolios
- Front-end experiments
- Full-stack applications
- Game projects
- School and CMGT projects
- Automation tools
- Random ideas that become way too serious
Basically: if it has logic, design, or a weird technical problem, I probably want to build it.
This GitHub profile is where I collect my projects, experiments, school work, and creative development ideas.
Some projects are polished. Some are learning projects. Some are chaos with a folder structure. All of them helped me learn something.
| Area | What it usually contains |
|---|---|
| Personal Projects | Tools, websites, experiments, portfolio work, and ideas I wanted to build |
| CMGT Projects | Creative Media & Game Technologies school projects |
| Front-end Projects | Layouts, UI experiments, responsive designs, animations, and web assignments |
| Game Projects | Concepts, prototypes, mechanics, maps, dialogue systems, and gameplay ideas |
| Automation | Scripts and tools that save time or make repetitive work less annoying |
- Building better SvelteKit projects
- Improving UI and UX design
- Making web apps faster and cleaner
- Creating game systems with proper structure
- Writing better documentation
- Using AI critically instead of blindly copy-pasting
- Building tools that actually solve problems
- My coding journey started because of Minecraft.
- I like projects that combine design and logic.
- I often start with a small idea and accidentally turn it into a full application.
- I enjoy creative games, music, scouting, travelling, and building things.
- I believe good code should be understandable, not just functional.
- I have probably said “I will clean this up later” and then absolutely regretted it.
