- requirement on blessings removed - io.open uses cp1252 as default encoding on Windows, so explicitly requesting utf8 is necessary
uses the method which from shutil. untested

Well here are my suggestions to remove the dependency on blessings.
I also needed to specify the encoding in setup.py to be able to install from source.
Fixes #4
