This week I focused on enhancing the WooCommerce iOS app’s point of sale (POS) experience. I refactored the checkout flow to leverage NavigationStack for cash payments and email receipts, delivering smoother and more predictable navigation in both cart and booking flows. Another highlight was migrating the POS Settings to use a unified split view architecture, which now adapts gracefully between iPad and iPhone layouts for a more consistent experience. I also tackled some tricky concurrency and state management issues so that opening the Cash view now feels instant even when cancelling a card payment in the background. In addition, I opened PRs to improve build times, optimize spinner animations in checkout, and started adding auto-reconnection for card readers. Overall, this week was all about removing friction and making the POS experience more robust and responsive.
