This was already here I just uncommented it.
update to head
If pillow is available fall back to it if qt can't load an image. This is useful for image formats qt doesn't understand directly such as single channel tgas

Qt has issues loading some image formats such as single color tgas.
Pillow has no problems with these so I'm using that to build a new pixmap from the pixel data.
