About The Pull Request
Brings the HBG-7L into the cargo market and prepares the way for the implementation of a planned future civilian Etherbor "marksman" weapon.
Why It's Good For The Game
The PGF military lineup is just about complete in my eyes, with their only true gap being left in the long-range/DMR category. Etherbor weapons are of course intended for primarily a close quarters niche, but the total lack of a competitive long-range weapon left the faction in dire straights during any sort of outdoors skirmishing engagment.
Following a lengthy discussion and testing period with others in the centcom testing chamber, this was the solution which was brought to general consensus.
Longstanding concerns over a scoped hitscan DMR being player accessible have kept the HBG-7L from being seen in game at all, labeled an "ERT" weapon.
To remedy this concern, the HBG's sniper level zoom has been reduced to indie-accessible level DMR zoom. This change does wonders for both how the weapon feels for the user and making the weapon less oppressive.
Likewise, it's price is nearly double that of factional/open market DMRs with comparable damage stats. ie; the CM-f4 and Boomsland 90 at 3500 while the HBG-7L comes in at 6k.
