Simply open Grove and click the "Plant a Tree" button then select your tracking mode, color & name of your habit! Once you give your tree a name and color, click "Plant Tree" to see it come to life on your home screen :) You can then click on any habit to open a menu showing you your total relapses (or check-ins), your best record, and your current streak. There is also additional information, such as a "time since last relapse" or "check-in details) tracker and an interactive calendar where you can report a relapse (or check-in), add notes, and even edit past or present times. Just under that, you will find a full history of your recorded relapses (or check-ins) along with the reasons why!

Grove is built using Flutter, pinned to a specific version (see flutter in pubspec.yaml) to keep builds consistent. Install Flutter at that version, or use FVM to manage it (fvm install && fvm use ).
Before your first build, make sure you also have:
JDK 21 installed (e.g. Eclipse Temurin 21), with JAVA_HOME pointed at it. This is the most common source of build failures - if Gradle fails with a Java-related error, check this first. The Android SDK licenses accepted. Run sdkmanager --licenses (without sudo - see the troubleshooting note in CONTRIBUTING.md if you hit a permissions error here). Then clone the repository, enter the project directory, and run flutter pub get (or fvm flutter pub get), followed by connecting your phone with USB debugging enabled, granting the necessary permissions, and finally running flutter run --release (or fvm flutter run --release).
