G'day, I'm Nick Perkins

Lead Software Engineer @ Secure Code Warrior

I work on Trust Agent — a product that catches AI-introduced vulnerabilities at the point of commit, before they reach production. Day to day that means leading the team: mentoring, planning, running ceremonies, managing delivery. I also architecture and write code, mostly through agentic workflows.

On the side, I'm building VolunteerHub solo — volunteer coordination software that handles shift scheduling, applications, approvals, automated notifications, and attendance tracking. I spent over a decade as a volunteer official and watched coordinators drown in Excel sheets and email chains while volunteers ghosted events because the logistics were a mess. I'm fixing that, in Laravel.

Current projects

Beyond the code

  • Motorsport official — keeping racers safe at tracks across Australia
  • ADHD advocate — sharing experiences and breaking down barriers in tech
  • Blogger — writing about platform engineering, AI, and the intersection of tech and life
