Lucas Szybalski

I build operating systems for enterprise growth.

My edge is not just that I am highly technical. It is that I know technology is only part one. The real work is aligning technology to the business, using data to confirm what matters, leading teams toward the right decision, and delivering outcomes that are genuinely better for the customer.

I am most useful in senior roles where the stakes are high, the systems are complex, and the answer is not obvious. I do my best work when there is ambiguity, fragmented data, competing priorities, and a need for someone who can understand the code, the architecture, the operations, the financial tradeoffs, and the human dynamics in the same conversation.

What I Do

  • Translate technical possibility into business value.
  • Use data to uncover where the customer journey is breaking, where friction is accumulating, and where the next high-impact move should be.
  • Build and guide teams that can execute across software, data, AI, infrastructure, and product.
  • Create systems that scale: platforms, processes, analytics, APIs, automation, and decision frameworks.
  • Help leaders decide what to fund, what to stop, what to fix, and what to build next.

How I Think

  • Technology without business alignment is expensive theater.
  • Strategy without data is opinion.
  • Data without action is waste.
  • Leadership means creating clarity, not just motion.
  • The customer experience is the final judge of whether the system is working.

Where I Add the Most Value

  • Executive technology leadership
  • Product and platform strategy
  • Data and analytics engineering
  • AI adoption and practical AI systems
  • Cross-functional transformation
  • Customer journey improvement
  • Technical program leadership
  • Cloud and infrastructure modernization
  • Financial-services and high-complexity operating environments

Technical Depth

I am deeply hands-on and comfortable going from executive discussion to implementation detail.

  • Python, SQL, APIs, data pipelines, automation
  • Databricks, Spark SQL, Delta Lake, Snowflake, dbt, Kafka, Hive, Parquet
  • AWS, Azure, GCP, cloud-first architectures
  • AI/ML workflows, LangChain, vector databases, LLM-enabled systems
  • Linux, web applications, distributed systems, infrastructure, observability
  • Data modeling, reporting, dashboards, KPI systems, governed analytics

I am especially strong in environments where large volumes of data need to be processed, connected, explained, and turned into decisions that teams can trust.

Leadership Style

I lead with technical credibility, calm judgment, and high standards.

  • I ask hard questions.
  • I simplify what is unclear.
  • I push for evidence.
  • I care about the details because details become customer outcomes.
  • I coach teams toward accountability, quality, and better thinking.

I am not interested in building technology for its own sake. I care about building the right system for the business, proving that it works with data, and making sure the team is moving in a direction that serves the customer.

What Senior Hiring Managers Should Know

If you need someone who can:

  • think like an executive,
  • reason like an architect,
  • work like an engineer,
  • validate with data,
  • and lead people through complexity,

that is where I am strongest.

I am particularly effective in roles that require a rare combination of deep technical ability, product and business judgment, financial-services awareness, and the ability to turn ambiguity into aligned execution.

High-Level Impact

  • Helped build and scale systems that supported growth from roughly 40 to 240 employees in a high-complexity operating environment.
  • Delivered software modules and operating capabilities tied to $1 billion in business value.
  • Led technology strategy and execution across multi-company environments with competing priorities, shared platforms, and meaningful operational risk.
  • Built data visibility that changed product, operational, and investment decisions by connecting datasets that had not previously been brought together.
  • Worked at the point where customer pain points, data, and engineering execution meet, turning ambiguity into clear next moves.
  • Helped leaders evaluate what to build, what to improve, what to automate, and what to stop.

Recent Learning

  • Microsoft AI Tour, 2025
  • Six Sigma Green Belt, in progress
  • Accelerate Development with GitHub Copilot, Microsoft
  • LangChain for Chat with Your Data, DeepLearning.ai
  • LangChain for LLM Application Development, DeepLearning.ai
  • Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO)
