Description

This PR adds support for building this project directly within a ROS workspace.

Motivation

Currently, integrating this library requires external package managers like Conan or vcpkg. To simplify the workflow for ROS developers, I have structured the project to function as a standard ROS package. This allows it to be compiled alongside other ROS nodes without introducing additional dependency management tools.

Code Review

This pull request adds support for building the project as a native ROS package, which is a great addition for ROS developers. The changes are mostly correct, introducing a package.xml and updating the CMakeLists.txt to be compatible with ament_cmake. I've identified a few areas for improvement, mainly concerning consistency in naming between the ROS package and the CMake project, version synchronization, and some best practices in the documentation for dependency management. Addressing these points will improve clarity and ensure more robust and reproducible builds for users.

high

Pinning the dependency to the main branch is not recommended for production use as it can lead to non-reproducible builds. It's better practice to pin to a specific release tag (e.g., v0.23.0) or a specific commit hash to ensure build stability.
