I build software in Redmond, Washington, a long way from Jamshedpur where I grew up. Right now I lead an engineering team at Microsoft working on M365 Copilot, which is the quiet, ongoing experiment of putting a large language model inside the tools that a few hundred million people open every morning.
The products I remember most are the ones that reached people who actually used them. Alexa Hands-Free shipped to about five million users, which still surprises me; I hold a patent for notifications that ended up inside Samsung. Before Microsoft there was Meta, and before that Amazon, and before that Samsung in Noida, which is where the whole thing started.
I keep a blog and a portfolio if you want the longer version.
