About The Project

Analysis of Football Data

The data is gathered from publicly available (spatio-temporal) football data (study published in Nature - Scientific Data - a peer-reviewed, open-access journal for descriptions of datasets, and research for sharing and reuse of scientific data) which has metrics from the top five european leagues and the world cup.

We are interesting in investigating the attributes and qualities of the players on winning teams in the English Premier League in the 2017-18 season.

Getting Started

To get a local copy up and running follow these simple steps.

Prerequisites

Python 3.11.6^

• install pip

  $ python3 -m pip install pip

Installation

1. Clone the repo

   $ git clone git@github.com:dilancroos/data_science_project.git

2. Change to the working directory

   $ cd data_science_project

• Check Usage to create a virtual environment

Usage

• Create a virtual environment .venv

  $ python -m venv .venv

• Enter the virtual environment .venv

  $ source .venv/bin/activate

• Install PIP packages

$ pip install -r requirements.txt
