Manual Installation:

  1. Make sure you have Daz Studio Installed via Daz Install Manager (DIM).
  2. Quit both Daz Studio and DIM.
  3. Double click the "DOUBLE_CLICK_ME" script file. Daz Studio should launch and run the script file.
  4. Click "Replace" if asked. If there were no errors, you should get success confirmation that package was copied into the correct DIM folder.
  5. Click "OK" and Daz Studio should automatically close and DIM should start.
  6. If you have a previous version of this software installed, go into the "Installed" Tab and click "Uninstall".
  7. Look in the "Ready to Install" Tab for the downloaded package and click Install. Click the small "refresh" icon at the top of the window if you do not see anything.
  8. If package installed successfully, you should see it moved over to the "Installed" Tab.

Pre-release

BETA INSTALL:

  1. Make sure you have Daz Studio Installed via Daz Install Manager (DIM).
  2. Quit both Daz Studio and DIM.

Manual Installation Instructions:

  1. Download the zipped dzmayabridge.dll (.dylib for macOS)
  2. Unzip and copy it into the Daz Studio plugins folder (example: \Daz 3D\Applications\64-bit\DAZ 3D\DAZStudio4\plugins).
  3. Follow the Maya module Installation Instructions to install the Maya module using the embedded plugin installer inside the Daz Studio DazToMaya Bridge dialog.
  4. If you do not have PyMEL installed, then you will also need to install that component. Please refer to your Maya documentation on how to install PyMEL for your Maya version.

Auto-JCM, Genesis 9 material (2022.2.14 Preview)

This is a preview release in preparation for further updates in the next few weeks.

  • Auto-JCM support, tested with Genesis 8 and 9
  • Genesis 9 eye materials fixed

To test Auto-JCM:

  1. Remember to Install the latest Plugin to Maya.
  2. In Daz Studio, set up your character and use File->Send To->Daz to Maya.
  3. Enable the "Export Morphs" checkbox in the Daz Studio Daz to Maya Bridge.
  4. Then click "Choose Morphs".
  5. For Genesis 8, click Add JCMs: Arms, Legs, Torso (as desired).
  6. For Genesis 9, click your character name in the Left Panel, then type "body_cbs" in the search bar above the Middle Panel. Then select desired morphs beginning with "body_cbs".
  7. Click Add for Export.
  8. Click Accept for the Select Morphs dialog window.
  9. Click Accept for the Daz to Maya Bridge window.
  10. In Maya, import using Daz to Maya Bridge as usual.
  11. Open Shape Editor and you should see the JCMs blendshapes are locked from user input. Moving the corresponding joints should now affect the JCM strength.

2022.2.13 AutoRig improvements, Unreal LiveLink compatibility

This is a hotfix release to address Geoshell-related crashes.

Manual Installation Instructions:

  1. Uninstall any previous 2022 version of the DazToMaya Bridge using Daz Central or DIM. If you manually installed a previous 2022 version, be sure to look for the older name, dzbridge_maya.dll to remove.
  2. Download and unzip the dzmayabridge.dll file.
  3. Copy the dzmayabridge.dll file into the Daz Studio "plugins" folder, which is located inside the Daz Studio program folder. Ex: C:\DAZ 3D\Applications\64-bit\DAZ 3D\DAZStudio4\plugins
  4. Restart Daz Studio and update the Maya Plugin using the Install Plugin button in the Advanced Settings section of the Bridge.

Bugfix: Custom MAYA_APP_DIR or Documents path

This is a bugfix release for the following issue:

  • "Install Plugins" button does not work with custom Documents path or custom MAYA_APP_DIR settings.
  • DLL/DYLIB filename changed to dzmayabridge to match naming scheme for other Daz Studio plugins
  • Updated CMake to create new DLL/DYLIB name
