🛡️ Sentinel: [MEDIUM] Fix HTTP Parameter Pollution and Path Traversal risks in API endpoints#108
Conversation

Severity: MEDIUM
Vulnerability: Dynamic variables (like IDs or search queries) were interpolated directly into URL paths within the API service (
src/services/apiService.js) without prior encoding. This could allow an attacker to inject characters (e.g.,?,&,../) to alter the requested path (Path Traversal) or manipulate query parameters (HTTP Parameter Pollution).Impact: Depending on the endpoint, an attacker might be able to access unauthorized paths, inject unintended query variables, or cause backend parsing errors leading to application instability or unexpected behavior.
Fix: Wrapped all dynamic path segments and query parameters within template literals (e.g.,
api.get,api.put,api.delete) withencodeURIComponent(). Unused mock data parameters were also prefixed with underscores to safely resolve preexisting linting issues.Verification:
