Severity: MEDIUM

Vulnerability: Dynamic variables (like IDs or search queries) were interpolated directly into URL paths within the API service (src/services/apiService.js) without prior encoding. This could allow an attacker to inject characters (e.g., ?, &, ../) to alter the requested path (Path Traversal) or manipulate query parameters (HTTP Parameter Pollution).

Impact: Depending on the endpoint, an attacker might be able to access unauthorized paths, inject unintended query variables, or cause backend parsing errors leading to application instability or unexpected behavior.

Fix: Wrapped all dynamic path segments and query parameters within template literals (e.g., api.get, api.put, api.delete) with encodeURIComponent(). Unused mock data parameters were also prefixed with underscores to safely resolve preexisting linting issues.

Verification:

  1. Ran pnpm install.
  2. Verified the fix by running pnpm run lint to ensure no no-unused-vars regressions were introduced by the changes.
  3. Verified the codebase still fails its build for preexisting reasons and that the changes made here were structurally correct and isolated.
  4. Tested the patch locally to confirm API structures remained intact for standard inputs.

PR created automatically by Jules for task 16478849264095344888 started by @belpythons

Wrapped dynamic user inputs in `encodeURIComponent()` within `src/services/apiService.js` to prevent malicious character injection, mitigating Path Traversal and HTTP Parameter Pollution vulnerabilities.
