• Rollup protocol & infrastructure

  • Designed and led the implementation of an EVM-compatible rollup with fraud proof system and integrated zk proof generation.
  • Architected and developed alt-beacon & alt-producer — core components enabling high-performance rollup with real TPS up to 5000.
  • Built rollup lifecycle automation workflow: automated spin-up, run, and teardown of rollups.

• Rollup-as-a-Service (RaaS)

  • Deep collaboration with Optimism and Arbitrum teams to operate production rollups for multiple L2s for over a year.
  • Designed and maintained infrastructure to support dozens of rollups in parallel with high availability.
  • Proposed and architected a Wasm fraud proof system for OP Stack runtime for Optimism team and also implemented the zk fraud proof system for our production.

• Platform & Product

  • Designed the RaaS dashboard integrating protocol runtime and DevOps system for managing multiple rollups.
  • Provided visibility and controls for users to monitor chain health and performance metrics.

• Designed the entire Polkadot Wasm smart contract stack (11+ components), including:

  • Wasm contract development toolchain (europa, redspot, etc..)
  • zk toolchain for Wasm contracts (zkmega)
  • RPC provider (elara)
  • Dev-friendly Smart contract language: AssemblyScript
  • Web IDE for contract development

• Led design and development of Vertic, a high-performance public chain:

  • Replaced MPT with SQL-based state model for high-performance chain and provide richer application modeling for complex DApps.

• Recruited and led engineering teams, coordinated architecture design, and drove product roadmap.

Sep 2018 – Oct 2020 | Hangzhou, China

• ChainX — a Substrate-based PoS blockchain enabling BTC cross-chain and on-chain DEX. The protocol achieved a peak TVL of 100k BTC. (2019)
• Designed and implemented Bitcoin light client bridge for BTC cross-chain transfers.
• Integrated Wasm smart contract platform and EVM into ChainX.
• Developed core runtime and consensus modules.
• Contributed to rust-filecoin:
  • Implemented rust-ipfs libraries and miner components.

Jul 2017 – Jul 2018 | Shenzhen, China FISCO BCOS is a high-performance, enterprise-focused consortium blockchain, optimized for security, privacy, and scalability in financial and business applications.

• Researched and optimized performance bottlenecks in FISCO BCOS blockchain.
• Maintained and improved PBFT and Raft consensus modules.
• Designed and implemented “Consortium Consensus Template” for modular consensus selection.
