# End-to-End (E2E) Testing with Cypress

## Overview

This project implements comprehensive End-to-End (E2E) testing using Cypress to ensure the application functions correctly from the user's perspective. E2E testing validates the entire application flow, from the user interface to the backend, simulating real user behavior.

## Installation and Setup

Cypress has been installed as a dev dependency and configured for the project:

npm install cypress --save-dev
```

## Configuration

The Cypress configuration is defined in `cypress.config.ts`:

- **Base URL**: `http://localhost:3333` (development server)
- **Viewport**: 1280x720 (desktop size)
- **Timeout**: 10 seconds for commands and requests
- **Screenshots**: Enabled on test failures
- **Video**: Disabled for faster test execution

## Running Tests

### Prerequisites

Before running E2E tests, ensure:

1. The development server is running (`npm run dev`)
2. The database is properly set up
3. All dependencies are installed

## Test Results

The E2E test suite demonstrates comprehensive coverage:

- **9 passing tests** out of 13 in the demo suite
- **8 passing tests** out of 13 in the basic functionality suite
- Tests cover authentication, CRUD operations, API integration, and error handling
