GalAid v0.1.7 beta Pre-release
Pre-release

GalAid v0.1.7 beta adds the next preparation layer for beginner-friendly startup diagnosis.

Highlights:

  • Bundled 7z-compatible preparation for ZIP/RAR/7z packages, with local 7z/7zz/7za still used as fallback.
  • Desktop image preparation: Windows ISO mount via Mount-DiskImage when available, plus best-effort extraction for supported image files.
  • Package/image UI labels and docs updated in English, Chinese, and Japanese.
  • Safety boundary remains local-first: extraction, image extraction, and ISO mounting only happen after an explicit desktop action; passwords are not stored.

Verified locally with npm run check, npm run test:smoke, npm run audit:release -- --strict, and git diff --check. GitHub CI, Pages, and Desktop Release workflows also passed.

GalAid v0.1.6 beta

Choose a tag to compare

GalAid v0.1.6 beta Pre-release
Pre-release

Highlights

  • Adds the first one-stop package preparation handoff: desktop users can click Extract and rescan on ZIP/RAR/7z package groups.
  • Supports a local password prompt for passwords the user already knows, without storing passwords in reports, support bundles, or launch history.
  • After extraction, GalAid automatically scans the prepared folder and returns to launch recommendations.
  • Keeps disc images as metadata/diagnosis for now; automatic mounting is not enabled yet.

Safety

Extraction is explicit and local: the user chooses the output location, GalAid creates a prepared folder, does not upload files, does not crack passwords, does not mount images, and does not auto-run extracted executables.

Verification

  • npm run check
  • npm run test:smoke
  • npm run audit:release -- --strict

GalAid v0.1.5 beta

GalAid v0.1.5 beta Pre-release
Pre-release

Highlights

  • Adds desktop package preflight beyond ZIP: optional local 7z-compatible RAR/7z directory listings, launch/installer clues, encrypted-entry warnings, and engine hints.
  • Adds disc-image metadata preflight for ISO/CUE/BIN/MDS/MDF-style package stages without mounting or extracting.
  • Updates the package sample, support reports, README translations, safety docs, and release notes for the broader package/image workflow.

Safety

GalAid remains metadata-only: no uploads, no password recovery, no automatic extraction, no mounting, and no automatic game execution.

Verification

  • npm run check
  • npm run test:smoke
  • npm run audit:release -- --strict

GalAid v0.1.4 beta Pre-release
Pre-release

Highlights

  • Added a manual launch-failure follow-up flow on the Launch tab.
  • Users can mark no response, immediate crash, mojibake, black screen, or missing DLL/runtime symptoms.
  • Follow-up evidence now feeds the roadmap, report, error recipes, support summary, and optional launch-failure.json in support bundles.
  • The flow explicitly records only user-provided symptoms; GalAid does not monitor game processes.

Validation

  • npm run check
  • npm run test:smoke
  • npm run audit:release -- --strict
  • GitHub CI and Pages deploy passed on main.

GalAid v0.1.3 beta

GalAid v0.1.3 beta Pre-release
Pre-release

Highlights

  • Added optional Locale Emulator, Wine, and Proton launch templates for locale-sensitive launch profiles.
  • Engine cards now explain why a route matched, show confidence/score evidence, and give a startup next step.
  • English and Japanese UI/report output now cover the new template and engine guidance surfaces.
  • Release template validation now follows package.json so future beta bumps are not hard-coded.

Validation

  • npm run check
  • npm run test:smoke
  • npm run audit:release -- --strict
  • GitHub CI and Pages deploy passed on main.

GalAid v0.1.2 beta

GalAid v0.1.2 beta Pre-release
Pre-release

GalAid v0.1.2 beta focuses on the desktop launch assistant.

Highlights:

  • Adds recent launch history for the desktop profile tab.
  • Adds Windows .lnk shortcut creation for trusted scanned .exe/.com entries.
  • Keeps shortcut creation behind the same latest-scan allowlist as one-click launch.
  • Updates README and desktop documentation for shortcuts and launch history.
  • Closes completed starter issues #15-#20 so future issues can target higher-signal work.

Safety boundary:

  • No hidden arguments, patching, bypasses, installers, extraction, or uploaded game files.
  • Reports and support bundles still omit game contents and desktop absolute paths.

GalAid v0.1.1 beta

Choose a tag to compare

GalAid v0.1.1 beta Pre-release
Pre-release

GalAid v0.1.1 beta adds the first desktop launch-assistant slice and refreshes the project README presentation.

Highlights:

  • Desktop one-click launch for trusted scanned Windows .exe/.com entries.
  • Launch allowlist in the Electron main process, so only paths from the latest desktop scan can be started.
  • Correct working directory is applied when launching a game entry.
  • Launch buttons are available from launch candidates and launch profiles in the desktop beta.
  • Added desktop launcher smoke tests to npm run check.
  • Refreshed README with a stronger visual landing section, demo/release links, and contribution-oriented framing.

Safety boundary:

GalAid still does not provide games, cracks, DRM bypasses, serials, decryption keys, or unauthorized asset extraction. One-click launch is user-initiated, metadata-driven, and limited to trusted scanned local Windows .exe/.com entries.

Known limits:

  • Web mode cannot launch local programs.
  • V1 launch support is Windows .exe/.com only.
  • GalAid does not add hidden launch arguments, patch files, run installers automatically, or bypass game checks.

GalAid v0.1.0 beta Pre-release
Pre-release

GalAid v0.1.0 beta is the first public beta release of the local-first launch doctor for visual novel and galgame folders.

Highlights:

  • Static web app and GitHub Pages demo for metadata-only diagnosis.
  • Desktop beta with native folder/file selection and recursive local scanning.
  • Launch candidate scoring for common Windows entries and web VN entries.
  • Commercial/self-developed engine startup-route diagnosis based on folder structure, resource archives, DLLs, config files, and working directory.
  • Community-editable startup error recipes in data/error-recipes.json.
  • Community-editable engine rules in data/engine-rules.json.
  • Desktop ZIP directory preflight that reads archive directory metadata without extracting files.
  • Chinese, English, and Japanese diagnosis output.
  • Metadata-only support bundle for safe issue/forum help.
  • Windows portable desktop build attached below.

Safety boundary:

GalAid does not provide games, cracks, DRM bypasses, serials, decryption keys, or unauthorized asset extraction. It reads metadata such as filenames, relative paths, sizes, extensions, and ZIP directory entries.

Known limits:

  • Web mode cannot directly launch local .exe files.
  • Desktop beta does not yet auto-launch games; launch profiles are hints only.
  • RAR/7z and disc-image internals are not inspected yet.
  • Error recipes and engine rules are advisory and should improve through safe community reports.
