Main changes explained:

• Update formatDate to include year: 'numeric' in the toLocaleString options so event cards on the Community Portal dashboard display the year alongside weekday, month, day, and time.

How to test:

1. Check out branch sphurthy-clear-date-filter-fix
2. Run npm install and npm start to run the app locally
3. Clear site data/cache
4. Log in as any user with access to the Community Portal
5. Navigate to /communityportal (Dashboard → All Events)
6. Verify each event card now shows the year in the date line (e.g., Saturday, February 15, 2026, 5:00 PM): covers current-year, past, and future-year events
7. Toggle "Show Past Events" and confirm past-year events also display the correct year
8. Verify the date renders correctly in [dark mode]

Tested the All Events page in dark mode and verified that event cards display the year correctly in the date line. Confirmed the date format is consistent and readable across displayed events, including past events when the "Show Past Events" option is enabled. No issues were observed with date rendering or year visibility.

But the branches,themes,categories dropdowns are displayed twice.

I ran and tested the branch locally.

I can verify that the year in the date line of the event cards are now present with it also working for the past events too. And that the functionality is fine on both Light and Dark Mode.

However, there is one issue. It seems that there is duplicated filters for branches, themes, and categories.

Hi, here is my analysis:

• Year displays correctly in event card date lines across all tested scenarios: upcoming events, past events (with "Show Past Events" toggled on), light mode, dark mode, and mobile (375px).

Issues

1. Duplicate filter dropdowns — Branches, Themes, and Categories each appear twice in the sidebar
   This was flagged previously and remains unresolved.
