Hey, I'm Brett ๐Ÿ‘‹

Indie developer & RPG publisher behind Infinite Portal Vault โ€” building tools and experiences at the intersection of AI, tabletop RPGs, interactive fiction, and creative workflow tooling.

๐Ÿ”ฎ What I'm Building

Infinite Portal Mayhem

An AI-powered character engine where you can summon any fictional character through a portal and play full RPG adventures across 17 core genres and 131 sub-genres.

๐ŸŽฎ Try the Demo

Want to see the portal in action? The free demo lets you summon up to 3 Known characters and 3 Novel (AI-invented) characters, explore their RPG sheets, and export them as beautifully laid-out PDFs. No account required, no API key needed.

๐Ÿ‘‰ Try the Demo

In Early Access

  • Local-first design, no subscriptions. Runs on your machine, uses your own cloud API keys or local LM Studio for LLM support. No monthly fee nonsense. We hate subscriptions as much as Jason Voorhees hates noisy campers.
  • Infinite character summoning. The Portal is powerful, but fickle โ€” it won't let you choose who or what arrives through it. Instead, it draws from the entire multiverse of known fictional characters, only allowing you to limit summons to popular-iconic characters, the full catalog of ALL possible characters, or Novel (AI-invented originals) each time you trigger the portal.
  • Character Portrait Art (optional, but recommended). Use your Nano Banana API key to generate fantastic character portrait art for any character you desire, or just drag your own images into the matching character's folder to populate it yourself.
  • Create and view RPG Sheets for any character summoned. Export these to beautiful PDF layouts. Dark and light sheets supported.

On the Roadmap

  • RPG Quest Mode โ€” Freeform narrative play using any summoned character, powered by your choice of AI provider and your choice of genre. Enable "Chaos Mode" and the AI will leverage your existing collection, injecting characters from your stash into your game.
  • Adventure Mode โ€” A structured 3-act experience with a stakes and doom counter, win and loss conditions, Relic awards (character and genre specific) that persist on each character for victories or defeats, a mini-map compass spatial-tracking system, and much more.
  • Genre Merging โ€” A system that shifts characters across genres and designs games based on any combination you can imagine. Dracula in a pulp swashbuckling adventure? Sherlock Holmes trapped in a cosmic horror? The portal doesn't judge. Good luck.
  • Roguelite Ability Unlocks โ€” Every few level-ups you choose new abilities designed around that specific character and the genre being played โ€” you never know what's coming. These persist in that genre for future games with that character as they level up.
  • World Builder โ€” Create and manage custom quest scenarios (built with AI or manually), specific to each character and saved per genre.
  • Lore Enrichment โ€” Vector database integration for deep character knowledge absorbed from your own text, Markdown, and PDF documents.
  • D&D 5e (2024) Strict Mode โ€” Optional rules-enforced play with a character sheet that transmutes your character to the closest official D&D class, while leveraging a Hybrid class system for characters that stretch too far beyond core class rules.

Status: Available now in Early Access (pay once, own forever) on itch.io.

Image Architect (in development)

Everything Lightroom's library and tagging system should be, without the Adobe subscription and without sending your photos to the cloud. A serious image organizer for photographers who've outgrown Adobe's limits.

Built around powerful multi-library support with optional password-gating, a tag architecture that blows past Lightroom's 9-keyword-set ceiling, and {optional) AI-suggested tagging that run entirely on your own hardware using local vision models. No cloud required, no subscription, one-time purchase when it ships.

Status: Active development. Private repo. Public beta TBD.

๐Ÿ› ๏ธ How I Work

I'm a solo developer who directs AI coding agents rather than writing code by hand. The agents are brilliant but need a firm hand โ€” left unsupervised they'll refactor your entire codebase while you're getting coffee. Keeping them productive means heavy documentation, strong architectural guardrails, and strict security auditing on every project.

My stack lives on CachyOS Linux running an AMD Ryzen AI MAX+ 395 with 128GB unified memory.

I believe AI-assisted development is the future of indie software, and I'm proving it by shipping real products with it.
