Ham Radio Tools

HamRadioTools is a group of individuals dedicated to open technology for ham radio enthusiasts. Based in Spain, it develops and shares free (and free as in "gratis"), open-source tools to support amateur radio activities like DXing, propagation analysis, location calculations, and more.

Key Projects The repos are mostly Python-based and Rust-based (with MPL-2.0 or MIT licenses) and include:

  • rcldx — Radio Cluster DX, a set of specifications for handling DX cluster data.
  • maidenhead68-center — Calculations for Maidenhead grid locators (converting lat/long and finding grid centers).
  • micro_solardx — A microservice/script providing solar data useful for HF propagation prediction.
  • world-radio-prefixes — Parser and maintenance tool for global ham radio call sign prefixes.

Other utilities like distributed leader election templates, geopy tests for cities and the source for the https://hamradio.tools website.

If you're into amateur radio software development or need practical tools for radio, check out the repos at https://github.com/HamRadioTools, all openly licensed for the ham community!
