🗺️ three-maps - Fast 3D Blockout Tool for the Web

Download three-maps

📋 About three-maps

three-maps is a tool designed to help you create simple 3D shapes and layouts quickly. It works in your web browser, letting you block out ideas for 3D scenes or levels without any complex setup. Whether you are planning a game map, a model, or a virtual space, three-maps helps you build the basic shapes fast so you can focus on details later.

The application uses the popular 3D technology called WebGL, which runs on most modern computers with an internet browser. You don’t need to write code or have special software. With three-maps, you can create greybox models easily and share ideas or designs with others.

🖥️ System Requirements

Make sure your computer meets these basic needs for running three-maps on Windows:

  • Windows 10 or later (64-bit recommended)
  • Modern web browser such as Chrome, Firefox, Edge, or Safari
  • At least 4 GB of RAM
  • A graphics card that supports WebGL
  • Internet connection to download the app and, optionally, cloud features

🌐 Visit the Download Page

Before running three-maps, you need to get the program files. To do this, visit the official release page:

This page lists the latest versions, with options for different operating systems and release notes. Look for the Windows version. It usually ends with .exe or is a zipped folder containing the program.

🛠️ How to Download and Run three-maps on Windows

Follow these steps carefully to get three-maps up and running on your Windows computer.

  1. Open your web browser and go to the three-maps Releases page:
    https://github.com/Andro114/three-maps/releases

  2. Look for the latest release title at the top. Releases usually have version numbers like v1.0 or v2.3.

  3. Under the latest release, find the file made for Windows:

    • It could be named something like three-maps-setup.exe or three-maps-windows.zip
    • If you see a .exe file, this is the installer.
    • If you see a .zip file, it contains the program folder.
  4. Click on the Windows file name to start the download. Your browser may ask where to save it; choose a place you can remember, such as the Desktop or Downloads folder.

  5. Once the file is downloaded:

    • If it is .exe, double-click to run the installer and follow the instructions on screen. The setup will ask where to install the program; the default folder is usually fine.
    • If it is .zip, right-click the file and choose “Extract All.” Pick or create a folder, then open the extracted folder. Find and double-click three-maps.exe to run the program.
  6. When the program opens, you will see its main window with tools and options to start building your 3D blockouts.

🚀 Getting Started with three-maps

After launching the program, here are the first things to try:

❓ Troubleshooting

If you face issues using three-maps, try these tips:

  • Ensure your browser is up to date if you are using the web version.
  • Check that your graphics drivers are current to support WebGL.
  • Restart the app or your computer if it freezes or runs slowly.
  • If the program won’t open after installation, verify the file is not blocked by Windows Defender or antivirus software.
  • For file loading issues, confirm the saved file was not moved or renamed.

🗂️ File Formats

three-maps saves your projects in its own file format with the extension .3dmap. These files store all blocks and their positions. You can send these files to others or open them later.

Export options may include common 3D formats such as .obj or .glb for use in other programs.

🖼️ Sample Projects Included

The program includes sample blockouts to help you learn. Open the “Samples” folder after installation or from the menu in the app to see example layouts. These can teach you how to build walls, floors, and basic structures.
