A curated collection of macro photography focusing on the intricate details of flowers, trees, and wild plants. Documenting botanical beauty through the lens of various mobile and compact camera systems, this repository serves as a personal learning journey and an open-source gallery of high-quality, close-up nature imagery.
Welcome to my collection of botanical macro photography. This project is a dedicated space for documenting the fine details of plants. From the veins in a leaf to the pollen on a stamen, or even just a cool photo of a flower, using accessible camera gear.
All photographs in this repository are captured using one of the following devices:
- iPhone 14 (Current Primary)
- iPhone 11 Pro
- Canon IXUS 220 HS
- iPhone 17 Pro (Sometimes, a relative's phone if my primary is unavailable)
I am currently a learning photographer. While these shots may not be professional-grade "top-notch" masterpieces yet, I am focused on improving my technique with every upload.
To maintain the utility of the archive, all images must be:
- Macro-focused: Subjects must be close-ups showing detail not easily seen from a distance.
- Clear: No motion blur or missed focus on the primary subject.
- High Resolution: Images must not be pixelated or heavily compressed.
The archive is organised by the scientific names of the flora:
/[Scientific Name]/image_file.jpg
Example:
/Taraxacum Officinale/any_name.jpg
Contributions are welcome! If you have high-quality macro shots of plants that fit the naming convention and quality standards mentioned above, feel free to open a Pull Request. Please ensure the folder name is the correct Scientific Name of the species. BUT, please commit into the designated "(COMMIT HERE!!)" folder.
