Sync directory is missing in the default configuration

When trying to run ddev drush updb:

[error] The directory /../files/sync/ does not exist.

Freshly installed using:

git clone https://github.com/webksde/ddev-vscode-devcontainer-drupal-template.git ddev-standard-vscode-drupal && cd ddev-standard-vscode-drupal && ddev drowl-init
