Cross-reference "Handling Long-Running Tasks" from "Progress Bar" component page.
While reading information about the “Progress Bar”, I was actually looking as well for the information on how to use the Progress Bar to show progress of the long-running task. After some searching, I was pleased to discover we already have a page on that… however, it'd be nicer to get to that page directly from the component page...
