Rust uptime shadows GNU uptime but does not support standard options like -p

The Rust implementation replaces GNU uptime in PATH but rejects common options such as -p, breaking existing scripts and expected coreutils compatibility.
It should either fully match GNU uptime’s CLI behavior or avoid being installed as a drop-in replacement.

which version do you have ?

$ cargo run --features unix -q uptime -p
for works for me:
actif 4 jours, 5 heures, 58 minutes

By the way, uutils decided to let -p NOT compatible with GNU at #10518 . So traditional scripts expecting unknown would break soon.

If you found such project, you need to ask them to use -m instead anyway.

good morning.
It turns out this was my mistake?! — the issue disappeared after a reboot.

Looking at pacman logs, I had recently reinstalled and upgraded uutils-coreutils:

[2026-01-24] removed uutils-coreutils 0.5.0  
[2026-02-09] installed uutils-coreutils 0.5.0  
[2026-02-11] upgraded to 0.6.0

After reboot, uptime -p now works correctly.
