Thanks a lot for open-sourcing STRinGS! The front-view text sharpening works really well.
I noticed a geometric artifact when rendering from side angles (>45°):
- Between text lines (or around text blocks), the background Gaussians seem to bulge outward like a bump
- The text looks slightly sunken or "engraved" into the surface, sometimes with a faint ghost/double image behind it
- It's especially obvious on small flat signs (like menu boards) where text and background should be perfectly coplanar
Front views look crisp, but side views show this depth misalignment between text and non-text regions. My guess is the text Gaussians (after densification) are sitting at a slightly different depth than the background, creating this "step" effect.
Have you run into this? Any tips to keep text and background flush in the same plane?
