Empty or blank Page detection

Is it possible to detect blank pages and delete them automatically? I often have duplex scans that are not consistently double-sided.

I really like this idea. My first instinct would be an OCR-based approach, something like 'if there are less than 5 letters on a page, consider it empty'. Easy to implement, but wouldn't work with image-only pages.

In any case, there should always be a user confirmation required before anything is deleted.

Yes, that's exactly what I had in mind. That would be great.

OCR check combined with a how much area of the page is "white". If there is lets say a 5cm² area (logo) on the page. keep it.
If it has no text and no area > threshold which is not white -> delete the page.
