On web, profiles won't resolve.

This is tricky. On gabo.es, those profiles are not available because they were never pushed to the server and it is not set up as a gateway

On seed.hyper.media, those profiles are legitimately not found. Very interesting the profiles never arrived there

for now I can sort of "cover up" this problem. But I want to hear from @burdiyan what is the best way for a profile to arrive on a server when a user joins. And we also have to fix this issue where profiles are not flowing to self-hosted sites like gabo.es
