Blank white screen after submit Rails Girls add to mailing list (no feedback to user)

Edit: SSL part of this problem has been fixed. There is still a problem that after adding yourself to the mailing list, you are redirected to a blank screen as shown in screenshots below.

The link to the rails girls mailing list is http rather than https

I am not sure if that is intentional, but it might explain this problem I have when I try to add myself to the mailing list. (I've replicated this on mobile safari and desktop chrome browser, screenshots here are from desktop chrome browser)

Looks like root cause is not SSL, as that's been fixed and we still see a blank page after submitting form (no security warnings though which is good!)

We still get no feedback from https://rubyaustralia.createsend.com/t/j/s/qtheu/ and there is only a white screen visible. I don't know anything about createsend. Seems like we use it via an API https://github.com/search?q=org%3Arubyaustralia+createsend+&type=code&p=1 generally and it's only for rails girls mailing list that we hit a url directly.

Createsend is the domain used by Campaign Monitor.

I think this bug report was a bit sketchy (I can say that since I wrote it 🤣). It was two different bugs, the SSL related issues which are resolved and the empty page showing after submission.

The empty page is not resolved. It’s possible I was already on the list (without realising) when it happened. If so that may be relevant to replicate the bug.

It seems like the problem is that we have at least 3 different ways to subscribe to a mailing list.

If committee have management access to all of those mailing lists maybe we should settle on single way how to do it? I assume that white screen issue might be caused either by misconfiguration of this subscription endpoint or maybe just because mailing list has been accidentally removed?
Since we already have a code to handle subscriptions via API for me the most logical step would have common UI component to handle subscriptions across the whole app.
