Terms of Service and Disclaimer

Agreement to Terms

By installing, downloading, accessing, or using Sugar (the "Software"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service and Disclaimer. If you do not agree to these terms, do not use the Software.

Liability Disclaimer

No Warranty

THE SOFTWARE IS PROVIDED "AS IS", WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO THE WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE AND NONINFRINGEMENT.

Limitation of Liability

IN NO EVENT SHALL THE AUTHORS, COPYRIGHT HOLDERS, OR CONTRIBUTORS BE LIABLE FOR ANY CLAIM, DAMAGES OR OTHER LIABILITY, WHETHER IN AN ACTION OF CONTRACT, TORT OR OTHERWISE, ARISING FROM, OUT OF OR IN CONNECTION WITH THE SOFTWARE OR THE USE OR OTHER DEALINGS IN THE SOFTWARE, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO:

  • Code Damage: Any damage, corruption, or loss of your source code, files, or projects
  • System Damage: Any damage to your computer systems, networks, or hardware
  • Data Loss: Loss of data, including but not limited to project files, databases, or configurations
  • Business Interruption: Any interruption to your business operations or development workflows
  • Third-Party Services: Issues arising from integration with Claude Code CLI, GitHub, or other services
  • AI-Generated Content: Any issues with AI-generated code, including security vulnerabilities, bugs, or inappropriate content
  • Production Deployments: Any issues arising from AI-generated code being deployed to production systems

User Responsibility

Users are solely responsible for:

  • Reviewing all AI-generated code before use
  • Testing and validating code in safe environments before production deployment
  • Maintaining proper backups of their projects and data
  • Ensuring appropriate security measures for their development environment
  • Complying with all applicable laws and regulations in their jurisdiction

Trademark and Affiliation Disclaimer

Anthropic Trademarks

"Claude," "Claude Code," and related marks are trademarks of Anthropic, Inc. Sugar is an independent third-party tool that interfaces with Claude Code CLI but is not affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by, or associated with Anthropic, Inc.

No Official Endorsement

This software is not officially supported, endorsed, or maintained by Anthropic, Inc. Any issues, bugs, or problems with Sugar should be reported to the Sugar project maintainers, not to Anthropic.

Third-Party Integration

Sugar integrates with publicly available APIs and command-line tools. The functionality and availability of these integrations may change without notice and are subject to the terms of service of the respective providers.

Use at Your Own Risk

Autonomous Operations

Sugar performs autonomous development tasks using AI. Users acknowledge that:

  • AI-generated code may contain errors, security vulnerabilities, or inappropriate content
  • Autonomous operations may make unintended changes to your codebase
  • Users should always review changes before accepting them
  • Production systems should never be directly modified without proper review and testing

Security Considerations

  • Never run Sugar with elevated privileges unless absolutely necessary
  • Review all generated code for security vulnerabilities before use
  • Do not use Sugar on systems containing sensitive or proprietary information without proper safeguards
  • Be aware that AI models may inadvertently generate code similar to existing copyrighted works

Data and Privacy

Local Processing

Sugar processes your code and project data locally and through the configured AI services. Users are responsible for understanding and agreeing to the data processing practices of any connected services (Claude Code CLI, GitHub, etc.).

No Data Guarantees

We make no guarantees about data privacy, security, or retention. Users should review the privacy policies of all connected services.

Modifications and Updates

These terms may be updated at any time. Continued use of the Software after any modifications indicates acceptance of the updated terms.

Governing Law

These terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the jurisdiction where the Software is primarily developed, without regard to conflict of law principles.

Severability

If any provision of these terms is held to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect.
