I have "Strip trailing blanks when saving" set in the line ending options. The current version of Notepad3 will not save a file unless it has detected you have edited it. This means you can no-longer use it to strip trailing blanks from a file unless you edit it, forcing you to edit something, save to strip blanks, and then undo your edit.
As a side note, I prefer software to always save when I ask it to save, regardless if it detects if it needs to or not.
