Can't start ppInk 1.9.99 : Request for the permission of type 'System.Security.Permissions.UIPermission, mscorlib,

After waiting for a while for the windows regression fix (#346 ), I finally downloaded ppInk and I'm getting the following error:

Im using Windows 11 Pro 24H2 build 26100.6584 and i have ran the .bat file as administrator before attempting to run ppInk.exe

retry renaming ppink.exe.config into ppink.exe.config.$$$disabled to disable this file and retry

Yeah, apologise - just got home.

Tried renaming the .config file, now there's no error, but also no process gets spawned - silently quits.
This is being ran inside a virtual machine with passed through graphics card and some other controllers. I'm using QEMU + virtio drivers, my host is Proxmox VE.

your environment seems very specific and the passthrough graphic could explain your issue (this is an idea from mistral when I pushed your message). Sorry this does not seem linked with ppink and completly out of my knowledge.

That's totally okay, thank you for your time!
It's quite interesting as I've never had issues installing any graphics-intensive programs, drivers or even games. Even the drawing tablet works fine.

On a test Windows 11 system (installed on a regular PC), I get exactly the same UnHandledException error as with xRedCrystalx. With 1.9.100 (same with 1.9.99), after running install_microsoft_ink_dll.bat as admin.
So I tested

My test Windows (an old laptop) is running 24H2, created from a uupdump.net image dated early September, then with updates KB5066131 (.NET 3.5 and 4.8.1), KB5066835 (24H2 cumulative update from 10/14/2025). Note regarding KB5066835, Microsoft says that "This security update contains fixes and quality improvements to KB5065789 (released September 29, 2025)"

are you sure you had this exception or another one?
