Editable only through mobile devices?

This app works nicely so far.
However, I see the notes in my email folder but it seems they are not editable there.
My guess is, because it lacks standards of an email (for example, no recipient).
I tried with two different email accounts, through Thunderbird and web interface each, and I observed the same.
Is this meant to be?
This feature is highly desirable for me.

If you have an email client which can edit emails and just save it to same folder again, this tool just would not exist.

There is IOS Imap Notes a Thunderbird-Plugin
which allows you to edit notes on the desktop,

Or your provider allows you to edit notes thru a web interface, as posteo.de
