Describe the bug
When using Just Video Player (0.211 6 apr 2026) to play a file with embedded surround content in a Dolby codec (I didn't test DTS), and then minimizing Just Video Player, the audio pass-through is apparently not released by Just Video Player. The AVR keep showing "Dolby Digital Plus" or "Dolby Atmos" even though the app is not active.
This causes other apps to try to play their audio through the container, resulting in upmixing, to the detriment of the original audio.
To Reproduce
Steps to reproduce the behavior:
- Open Just Player
- play a video with surround sound codecs that can be passed through on Google TV (Dolby Digital Plus, Atmos, etc.)
- Exit Just Player.
- Open another app (e.g. Smarttube Beta).
- All other apps remain stuck in the passed through surround codec instead of just PCM. This results in unnecessary upmixing of stereo content (sound out of the center and surround speakers when playing back stereo content)
Expected behavior
Just Player should release the audio passthrough when closed (minimized / to background), so other apps can play sound as intended instead of in the 'pass through' container.
Device (please complete the following information):
- Model: Xiaomi Mi TV Box S (3rd Gen)
- OS: Android
- Version: latest
Additional context
Smarttube used to have the same type of bug but it was fixed at some point yuliskov/SmartTube#4904
