Describe your issue
.exe is broken → all files try to run as executable.
You cannot permanently assign programs, you can choose open with but it doesn't allow you to choose a default software to use always it gives you the option 'just once'.
Icons are wrong or stuck as .exe.
Settings → Default apps doesn’t work properly.
trying to fix it with Registry didn't work.
.XML run as .EXE with exe default icon even though the extension is .XML... not only XML but all the files that you didnt open before it means all the extensions that are not asigned a default software before the problem happens, some say its because EDGE browser getting deleted....
