Ship bundled conpty on Windows

Status: Waiting for microsoft/vscode#224488 to be closed

node-pty has started shipping conpty, instead of relying on the one shipped with Windows (which can be years behind). microsoft#694

The shipped binary is ~50 MB large, so we should only ship it on Windows.

As of 2024-08-06, the node-pty developers are actively working on this feature and pushing new beta versions regularly. We should wait until things have settled down.

v1.1.0 was released: microsoft#843

So maybe a good time to make the next release here.

But see also: microsoft#46 (comment). Upstream node-pty now ships with some prebuilt binaries, except in one massive package, and I’m not sure if it gets rid of node-gyp completely.

I have now prepared a new branch: https://github.com/lydell/node-pty/tree/split-package

It changes the approach of this repo. Instead of being a fork with minor changes and its own prebuilds in GitHub Actions, it is now a small script that downloads the official node-pty package and splits it into platform specific ones.

As soon as node-pty makes a release with Linux binaries (from microsoft#853), I’ll switch over to this new approach and make a new release.
