Adding the connection mechanism to the Messaging Specification #1094
Description
I am making a pass on the Messaging Specification to add all the missing parts so that we can release a new version. Now that we've merged the Kernel Handshaking pattern, I think it would make sense to add it (and the regular connection mechanism) to the specification. If noone objects, I will open a PR to do so.
