Error Importing .model files (Linux)

I keep trying to use the Linux version of Blender (as I am a native Linux user, currently using version 4.4.3 through Steam) with this plugin, however when trying to import a model I get this message shown in the image below. I have .NET 8 installed on Linux so I'm not sure why this is coming up.
The extension works fine on the Windows version through Proton without any errors, however it's rather tedious to navigate to the files I want to load.

I used dotnet --list-runtimes and the following came up, so perhaps there's something I'm missing:

Microsoft.AspNetCore.App 8.0.17 [/usr/lib/dotnet/shared/Microsoft.AspNetCore.App]
Microsoft.NETCore.App 8.0.17 [/usr/lib/dotnet/shared/Microsoft.NETCore.App]

Never did, unfortunately. Stuck with using the Windows version.
