gradient on the fur length

so im trying to create an animal with this fur. The problem is that some parts of the hair should have thinner hair. is there a way to do a gradient on the fur length? especially on geometry and fin shader

To keep things simple in this repository, it lacks some features needed for use as a general-purpose fur shader. However, for the functionality you're looking for, you might be able to achieve it relatively easily by adding an extra texture and multiplying its luminance (or similar values) with the fur length.
