Late confirmation email & bad token

Describe the bug

I receive confirmation emails late and then I get
error?code=ACCOUNT_BAD_CONFIRMATION_TOKEN

I can't re-confirm so I signup again but my email is already registered.

Steps to reproduce the bug

1. Signup
2. Wait for the email and see if your receive it on time
3. If yes, no error. But if no, confirm anytime later to see bad token
4. Signup again using the same email address
5. see error

What's the expected result? What's the actual result?

My email should drop from registration when token expires?
