PyCharm Plugin: unable to navigate appmap.json

Hey,
installation and setup of both the app and the plugin worked fine, however, there's an issue that basically blocks me from using it.

The left part of the json visualization window is cut off, making it basically impossible to navigate it.
I played around with zoom already, no improvement.

Interestingly, if I shrink the window from the right, it show up

Until we get this issue settled, is there any other way to visualize the appmap.json files?

Hi, thanks for reporting this issue.

You asked about a workaround - can you open your project in VSCode with the AppMap extension and see if you have the same issue?

Hi, thanks for this hint, the VSCode plugin works like a charm :-)

btw, another thing I noticed with PyCharm: sometimes the list of jsons in the "AppMap Data" won't refresh upon generation of new jsons, now it works, but it took me some restarts of IntelliJ .. also, it is not obvious how the discovery of these files is done, some maybe add an option to specify a folder or the like?

Hi @mschwoer, thanks for the report. Out of curiosity, do you have your editor zoom set to a value greater than 100%?

E.g., via Settings > Appearance & Behavior > Appearance:

Regarding the AppMap data refresh - it should occur as JetBrains re-indexes the tmp directory which contains the data files. We've gotten reports that this can sometimes be slow. I'll pass this along and I've opened up a new issue to track it: #895

Indeed I had this set to 125%. After changing it to 100% and closing all opened *.appmap.json tabs, the view is fine now. I did play around with the zoom before, but apparently never close the tabs.
