SOLVED Ugly font - debian trixie/wayland/sway

After switching to wayland/sway the fonts of edisyn has gotten kinda ugly. Any hints on how to fix that? Only java app I run, so no idea if the problem is java general or edisyn specefic.

Yikes that is awful, but it's not something that Edisyn controls per se. Even the titlebar looks bad. Java will ask the OS for certain defaults, like the "system font", etc., and use the fonts it's given. It looks like Edisyn is being given very bad fonts from your OS. There might be a way to force the font choice but we'd have to know exactly what font is on your OS.

A quick google suggests that this is a Wayland problem. Installing xsettingsd or xdg-desktop-porta-gtk fixes it? https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=292161

Installing xsettingsd and adding the following to .config/sway/config fixed it:
exec xsettingsd
