What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. run iTSfv, it can either start iTunes or iTunes can already be running
2. do some operation in iTSfv that affects the iTunes db
3. exit iTSfv, select 1000 songs in iTunes and change a db field (for example,
change all BPM to 1)
4. as iTunes chugs along, at some point it is likely to crash
What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
- I expect iTunes to finish the operation, but instead it crashes. Looking at
the error output, I get the impression it still thinks iTSfv is connected
somehow even though it has exited. Perhaps iTSfv is not 'detaching' completely
from iTunes or missing some cleanup step.
What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
- iTSfv 5.61.2.1
- iTunes 10.1.0.56 (but also happened under iTunes 8)
- Windows XP Home SP3, all updates
Please provide any additional information below.
- restarting iTunes does not seem to help, the problem with the crashing recurs
until I restart Windows
I really like the product, I used it to update artwork and cleanup 21,000+
tracks in iTunes, I never could have done that without it!
