As is well known the Master Compact expansion connector isn't able to be adapted to a proper 1 MHz bus, but can trivially produce a 2 MHz bus, as it did with the Mertec Companion which exposed a 1 MHz bus-like connector that ran at 2 MHz, so little worked with it.
I'm curious about whether, with appropriate level-shifting and physical interface hardware, Pi1MHz might be converted to a Pi2MHz for the Compact. Is the Raspberry Pi hardware fast enough, and if so, which parts of the firmware would need to be updated? I assume the 6502 helper code would need changes too, to account for differences in the Compact.
