New user, question about the version of amie

Hi,

I am a new user of amie,

I am stuck into which stable version I should use. Do you have any simple recommendations?

I checked the issues, and found that there are amie3 amie+, gpro branch, mvn install the main branch code, amie-milestone-intKB.jar, etc.

If I just want to use the latest stable version to mind the rule, which way I should choose?

Hello,

If you want to use AMIE's standard features to mine rules I recommend you to use the official release available here: https://github.com/dig-team/amie/releases/tag/v3.5.1 (which corresponds to the main branch)

The other branches test the different features described in the AMIE3 paper. Most of them were already ported to the main branch, e.g., the intKB feature. Others such as the gpro branch were required for the evaluation of AMIE3 but are not crucial for AMIE to work. Unless you need those particular features, just stick to the main branch and the official release.

For this version, can I set the number of hops of rules that I want to mine? If so, how can I configure that parameter? For instance, if I want to find at most 4 hops rules.

Yes, you can add the -maxad 4 parameter to do that.

Yes, I've tried the -maxad 4 option and it works well.

Regarding the stable release at this link, does it support searching for the triangle or diamond patterns? If so, can I configure it to search exclusively for triangle or diamond patterns? I saw in the issue tracker that the diamond pattern is in a separate branch and hasn’t been merged into the main branch because it could break some existing functionality. However, that discussion is already several years old.

My apologies for the late reply, but I got stuck with plenty of duties. I checked the code and at least the master branch does not make any reference to the diamond pattern, so it seems the pattern is not excluded. Could you please test it? Do you want to exclusively mine such kind of rules? Or do you just want them in?
