Hey,
today I received my "1189:8890".
I did not even know it required proprietary windows software when I bought it.
By default it sent "c" on every key press (WHY?)
I quickly found https://hackaday.io/project/189914-rgb-macropad-custom-firmware and https://github.com/kriomant/ch57x-keyboard-tool (and already was happy that open source software for the device exists).
But now I also found your project (ironically by searching for "1189:8890" in github directly after having found your (still open) request here).
It is slim, written in c, just works and your default mappings F13-F18 are perfect!
Thank you very much!
